MAY MEDIA MANIA FACT SHEET

WHAT: 4th Annual May Media Mania. Presented by the National Speakers Association, Greater Los Angeles area chapter, this highly anticipated event is designed to bring the press and yet-to-be-discovered expert guests together. Experts pitch and the Media teaches what they know and expect all while discovering some exciting new takes on topics people are talking about. The objective is for the media and our experts to be able to serve each other better.

FORMAT: From 9:00 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 13, the day will be divided into four blocks, each moderated by an MC. In Segment 1, three famous experts will give us their take on how they achieved expert-status and six speakers will give 30-second pitches on "What Makes Them Experts," followed by media critiques. Segment 2 will be filled with 8-second pitches and lots of media critiques and tips on what the media wants and expects. Segment 3 will highlight the presentation of pre-screened pitch letters, again followed by media feedback. Segment 4 will be the introduction of "Speed Pitching," as each media guest will be provided with a "handler," and all guests who desire to participate can line up and pitch the media guest of their choice with short, timed and spontaneous presentations. The event ends with a reception and light lunch.
